Grow Wildflowers

RHS Plants for PollinatorsGet your guests to grow the love with this quirky seed packet wedding favour!  The seed packet is recycled and measures 9 x 12 cm.  The seeds are inside the packet in a paper sachet – no plastic and foil sachets in our products!  These seed packets are a great wedding favour to encourage your guests to get growing wildflowers and, hopefully, inspire them to grow more.  It is important to grow wildflowers to encourage pollinating insects into the garden as their natural habitats are in serious decline.

The packets measure 9 x 12 cm and are personalised with your wedding details – please advise these in the Personalisation box above.  The reverse of the packet has the sowing instructions.  The seeds are viable for a few years so it is not a problem if they are not used straightaway – simply store them somewhere cool and dry out of direct sunlight.

About the Seeds

There are 15 species of wildflower in this mix, although not every packet may have all 15, due to seed distribution.  The seeds are grown in the UK and are UK species only – all of them are amazing for insects!  Seed content is as follows:

Yarrow, Lesser Knapweed, Wild Carrot, Ladies Bedstraw, Rough Hawkbit, Ox-eye Daisy, Ribwort Plantain, Cowslip, Selfheal, Meadow Buttercup, Yellow Rattle, Sorrel, Salad Burnet, White Campion and Red Campion.

These seeds are great for sowing with children to inspire an interest in nature – they will find it fascinating to keep checking on them to see how they are growing and what flowers and insects will appear!

A meadow example, but a different seed mix to the mini meadow mix above!

June onwards

Hardy annuals – which means they will germinate, flower and die the same year.

Corn Marigold – yellow

Cornflower – blue

Corn Chamomile – white daisy flowers

Find a bare patch of soil in full sun and sprinkle on the seeds.  Gently press them into the soil and water (no need to cover the seeds).  Water as required.  Can also be sown the same way in large pots or troughs.
