We have teamed up with the amazing Buglife to help raise money for the work they do for insects – a 10p donation from every relevant packet sold will go to Buglife. As Sir David Attenborough said – “If we and the rest of the back-boned animals were to disappear overnight, the rest of the world would get on pretty well. But if the invertebrates were to disappear, the world’s ecosystems would collapse.”
Insects are vital for life on Earth and some are disappearing at an alarming rate. Buglife is the only charity in Europe devoted to the conservation of all invertebrates, and is actively working to save Britain’s rarest bugs, bees, butterflies, ants, worms, beetles and many more fascinating invertebrates. Further information is available on Buglife’s website at www.buglife.org.uk
But, alarmingly, invertebrates are facing an extinction crisis. Today, thousands of invertebrate species are declining and many are heading towards extinction. Worldwide 150,000 species could be gone by 2050 if we do nothing.
Each invertebrate species plays a unique and important role in the web of life, but once lost, they cannot be replaced. Many invertebrates have incredible life stories yet to be told, and we literally don’t know what we are on the brink of losing.
Buglife’s aim is to halt the extinction of invertebrate species and to achieve sustainable populations of invertebrates.
They are working hard to achieve this through:
– Promoting the environmental importance of invertebrates and raising awareness about the challenges to their survival.
– Assisting in the development of legislation and policy that will ensure the conservation of invertebrates.
– Developing and disseminating knowledge about how to conserve invertebrates.
– Encouraging and supporting invertebrate conservation initiatives by other organisations in the UK, Europe and worldwide.
– Undertaking practical conservation projects that will contribute to achieving our aim.
Buglife’s B-Lines strategy
B-Lines are an imaginative solution to the problem of the loss of flowers and pollinators. B-Lines are a series of ‘insect pathways’ running through our countryside and towns, along which they are restoring and creating a series of wildflower-rich habitat stepping stones. They link existing wildlife areas together, creating a network, like a railway, that will weave across the UK landscape. This will provide large areas of brand new habitat benefiting bees and butterflies– but also a host of other wildlife.
Wildflower Promotions will donate 10p to Buglife for every seed packet wedding favour sold in their name.

We have supported Buglife for a number of years. Here is what they say:
“Wildflower Favours {now Wildflower Promotions} has been supporting Buglife since 2017 paying over a donation based on sales. Over this time around £5,000 have been contributed to the charity. These monies have been invested in supporting delivering of our B-Lines network of insect super highways across the UK. These contributions have enabled us to invest in and deliver projects that have delivered around 50 hectares of wildflower rich grassland by using the funds to match other grants. This is a really significant contribution to growing insect connectivity. We are really grateful to Teresa for her on-going support to our cause.“
