Description
This is a very useful wildflower seeds wedding favour – well, useful for the butterflies, bees and other insects that rely on wildflowers for their survival! This seed packet contains a mix of wildflowers that are so beneficial to wildlife. It is our own mix, so you won’t find it anywhere else! Even better, the wildflower species included are all native to the UK, which is very important for our native insects. Wildflowers and insects work in harmony together and have evolved together in the UK landscape, so if you are growing wildflowers, always choose those that are native to the UK.
The seed packet is made from quality recycled manilla paper and measures 9 x 12 cm. The seeds are inside in a glassine paper sachet, not plastic and foil. Sowing instructions and seed content are printed on the back. This wildflower seeds wedding favour is also personalised with your wedding details – please advise these in the personalisation box above.
Not getting married for a while? The seeds are viable for a few years so just store them somewhere cool and dry out of direct sunlight if they are not to be used for a while.
What is glassine paper? Glassine paper is an eco-friendly and plastic-free alternative to mass-produced heat-sealed plastic and foil/paper sachets. Unlike those sachets glassine paper can be recycled and is biodegradable. It is also resistant to moisture and will keep the seeds dry in the main packet.
Seed Content
There are 7 species of wildflower in this mix. The seeds are grown in the UK by a DEFRA-registered grower who is inspected annually, and the seeds are traceable. The mix contains UK native species only and all of them are amazing for insects! You will get about a gram or so of seeds, enough to create a 1 metre square wildflower patch.
Seed content is as follows – Lesser Knapweed, Wild Carrot, Ladies Bedstraw, Ox-eye Daisy, Selfheal, Teasel and Musk Mallow.
Hopefully your guests will want to carry on helping Nature and grow more wildflowers in their gardens! Give the gift that keeps giving! These seeds are perennial and will flower every year as a reminder of your big day!
