How long will my order take to send?
We strive to get your order to you as quickly as possible – but we will do our utmost to get it to you within 14 days, so please bear that timescale in mind when ordering! It really is dependent on the time of year – wedding season, ie, February to September, sees us inundated with orders! It is also very much dependent on what you have ordered – many of our products need to be personalised or made from scratch and this takes longer than off-the-shelf items such as paper. That said, we can often accommodate short-notice orders – please contact us if you need your order as a matter of urgency (please see below section on urgent orders).
Please note that we do not send out orders on Saturdays, Sundays or Bank Holidays.
PLEASE READ CAREFULLY OUR DELIVERY OPTIONS INFORMATION BELOW – we know, it does seem rather tedious (yawn), but it will explain a lot and save any annoyance later if you don’t get delivery when you expect it!
There are two delivery options:
First class delivery
Applies to all non-personalised items, and orders up to a value of £35.00. If you need your order urgently, please see our URGENT ORDERS section below.
Please note that first class delivery is not always next day and can take a few days to arrive. Royal Mail does not guarantee next day with first class. If you need your order urgently or by a deadline please see the relevant section below. We also offer a tracked services where delivery is 24 hours AFTER your order is DESPATCHED.
TRACKED, SIGNATURE, 24 HOURS AFTER DESPATCH
This option is trackable and requires a signature. Delivery is 24 hours AFTER we have sent it out. It is impossible for us to make personalised orders on the day the order arrives for delivery next day. You can specify somewhere safe for the item to be left if you wish – just let us know in the notes section when you order. However, we cannot be held responsible if your order is left in a safe place and goes missing! This is the default delivery option for orders over £35 (although you can defer to free 2nd class delivery which has very low compensation, is’nt trackable and can take up to a week) . This is because the compensation level is higher if orders go astray, it is trackable and a signature can help with finding out who signed for it if delivery is in, say, a workplace.
Despite the fact that delivery is not usually the next day after ordering, this option is useful because you know your order will arrive the day after despatch, compensation is higher than by Royal Mail and it is trackable – well worth £4.99 for the peace of mind!
Urgent Orders or orders with a need-by date
If you must have your order the day after you place it or you need it by a particular imminent date PLEASE PHONE US! We can then advise if next day delivery is possible or we can make sure we can meet you imminent deadline. This will save any angst if your order is not sent on the day you place it or doesn’t arrive by the day you need it. We need you to phone because orders and emails may not be read until it is too late, as much of the day is spent making up orders and we open orders when we get to them, which makes it fair as people get their order in order of placement.
We also offer free delivery on orders over £65 (how jolly kind of us!) Free delivery applies once your order has reached £65 – yippee! This is a second class service so will take a good few days to get to you, maybe as long as a week.. When you get to £65 or over in the checkout area you will also have the option to upgrade to the tracked service (delivery 24 hours after despatch) if you prefer – we would strongly recommend paying a bit extra for this service as the compensation level is higher if anything should go wrong during delivery and it is much quicker than second class. Plus the order is trackable, which 2nd class isn’t.
DELAY, LOSS OR DAMAGE
Please let us know immediately of any damage or delay caused with the delivery of your order, so that we can start a prompt claims process with Royal Mail/DPD. Please allow a reasonable time for delivery with regard to non-trackable items before claiming a loss from us as Royal Mail will not consider anything lost until 15 working days have elapsed. Once parcels leave us they are at the mercy of Royal Mail and we have no control over their tender care so please do not get cross with us if delays happen – we are sensitive souls and do our best to get your order to you on time!
If you have advised us of somewhere safe to leave your order, we cannot be held responsible if it goes missing after delivery, so please make sure the place you specify is safe! Also, make sure you specify somewhere out of the rain! We will not refund orders that go missing after delivery has been made or have been left exposed to all that the weather can throw at them.
If a parcel is returned to us by DPD because the customer was not in to sign for it, or a card was left and the customer did not rearrange delivery or pick up, there will be a further re-delivery cost to be paid. If the customer is not in and doesn’t contact the courier to rearrange delivery, then an additional charge of £12 will be made to cover the charge made to us by the courier company for returning, + a further redelivery cost of £4.99. DPD always email to advise a delivery date once we have sent your order so please do ensure you contact them and request a different delivery date if you are not going to be in.
We also love our international customers and can deliver worldwide! However, orders containing seeds can only be delivered to EU countries. You will not be able to order online if outside the UK, so please email us with your requirements and we will advise the delivery cost and how to order.
Phew, that’s all we need to tell you about delivery – thank goodness for that, we hear you mutter! Our delivery information is necessarily long to avoid misunderstandings but we hope we have explained it OK!
