How Long Will My Order Take To Send?

We strive to get your order to you as quickly as possible – but please allow up to 14 days (plus whatever delivery timescale you chose), so please do bear that timescale in mind when ordering!  It really is dependent on the time of year – growing season, ie, February to October, is the time of year when people’s thoughts turn to sowing seeds and the garden, so we are inundated with orders!  It is also very much dependent on what you have ordered – many of our products need to be personalised and this takes longer than off-the-shelf items such as paper. That said, we can often accommodate short-notice orders – please contact us if you need your order as a matter of urgency (please see below section on urgent orders).

Please note that we do not send out orders on Saturdays, Sundays or Bank Holidays.

PLEASE READ CAREFULLY OUR DELIVERY OPTIONS INFORMATION BELOW – we know, it does seem rather long and  tedious (yawn), but it will explain a lot and save any annoyance later if you don’t get delivery when you expect it!

First Class Delivery

This delivery option will be shown if it is available for the quantity you have ordered and weight. If this option does not appear then DHL or Special Delivery are the most relevant options for the value and weight of your order. Please note – first class delivery is not guaranteed for delivery next day and can take a few days to arrive.   If you need your order urgently, please see our URGENT ORDERS section below.

Tracked and Signed Delivery

Nobody likes to pay a lot for delivery but sometimes the peace of mind of tracked delivery is worth the pennies spent, particularly if the order is for a wedding or event.

Two options – DHL and Royal Mail Special Delivery. These options are available for any order in case you want your order to have the peace of mind of being trackable and delivered the day after sending. These options also appear as the only options if your order is of a certain value and weight. Trackable mail is particularly useful if your order is valuable or you cannot afford for it to be delayed and need to know where it is in the system. A signature is usually required.

The courier option is tracked, signed and delivered usually the next day after sending in most cases. We use DHL and they will, if specified, leave a parcel safe if you are not going to be in.

Royal Mail Special Delivery – this option is guaranteed next day before 1 pm (although during the pandemic this may not be possible by 1 pm and so may be a bit later in the day).

PLEASE NOTE THAT THESE NEXT-DAY OPTIONS ARE FOR THE DAY AFTER SENDING, NOT THE DAY AFTER YOU PLACE YOUR ORDER.

Urgent Orders or orders with a need-by date

If you require your order the day after you place it or you need it by a particular imminent date PLEASE PHONE US!  We can then advise if next day delivery is possible or we can make sure we can meet your imminent deadline.    PLEASE DO NOT PUT ANY URGENT DELIVERY INFO IN THE COMMENTS SECTION OF YOUR ORDER AS THEY WON’T BE SEEN UNTIL THE ORDER IS OPENED!

Free Delivery

We also offer free delivery on orders over £85 (how jolly kind of us!)  Free delivery applies once your order has reached £85 before postage is added – yippee! This is a second class Royal Mail postal service so will take a good few days to get to you, maybe as long as a week, and is not trackable. However, you will also have the option to upgrade to the tracked and signed service if you prefer – we would strongly recommend paying a bit extra for this service as it is much quicker than second class and offers tracking for peace of mind. Delay, Loss Or Damage

Please let us know immediately of any damage or delay caused with the delivery of your order, so that we can start a prompt claims process with Royal Mail or the courier company.  Once parcels leave us they are at the mercy of the delivery company or Royal Mail and we have no control over their tender care so please do not get cross with us if delays happen – we are sensitive souls and do our best to get your order to you on time!

If you have advised us of somewhere safe to leave your order, we cannot be held responsible if it goes missing after delivery, so please make sure the place you specify is safe and out of rain and snow! We will not refund orders that go missing after delivery has been made or have been left exposed to all that the weather can throw at them if they have been left in the safe place you suggested.

Delivery Failure

When your order is completed you will be emailed to say it is done and on its way.  If you chose the tracked and signed option, the delivery company too will email you to advise of a delivery date.  If a parcel is returned to us  because the customer was not in to sign for it (3 delivery attempts will be made), or a card was left and the customer did not rearrange delivery or pick up, there will be a further re-delivery cost to be paid.

Delivery Zones

Unfortunately we do not send orders internationally and, at the moment, we also cannot send seeds to Northern Ireland.
