Fab seed packet for kids to get growing wildflowers! Cornflower sees for children are easy to grow and germinate quickly, so children won’t get too bored waiting for the flowers! They are brilliant wildflowers for bees, too.
The seed packet measures 9 x 12 cm and is made from white recycled paper. The cornflower seeds are inside in a glassine paper sachet (not a foil and plastic one)
What is glassine paper? Glassine paper is an eco-friendly and plastic-free alternative to mass-produced heat-sealed plastic and foil/paper sachets. Unlike those sachets glassine paper can be recycled and is biodegradable. It is also resistant to moisture and will keep the seeds dry in the main packet.
About Cornflower Seeds
This pretty wildflower was once common in the wild in cornfields but is now very rare in the wild, having been eradicated by farmers. The flowers are blue and “fluffy” and much loved by bumblebees, honeybees and solitary bees. All members of the centaurea family are rich in nectar.
