Grow Wildflowers

Description

RHS Plants for PollinatorsThis is a very useful meadow seeds wedding favour – well, useful for the butterflies, bees and other insects that rely on wildflowers for their survival!  This seed packet contains a plethora of wildflowers that are so beneficial to wildlife. Even better, the species included are all native to the UK, which is very important for our native insects.  Wildflowers and insects work in harmony together and have evolved together in the UK landscape, so if you are growing wildflowers, always choose those that are native to the UK. The seed packet is made from quality recycled manilla paper (115 gsm) and measures 9 x 12 cm.  The seeds are inside in a paper sachet, not plastic and foil. The seeds are also viable for a few years so if you are not going to be using them straightaway, store them somewhere cool and dry out of direct sunlight.

This meadow seeds wedding favour is also personalised with your wedding details – please advise these in the personalisation box above.

Give the gift that keeps giving!  These seeds are perennial and will flower every year as a reminder of your big day!

Meadow seeds review

About the meadow seeds

There are 15 species of wildflower in this mix, although not every packet may have all 15, due to seed distribution.  The seeds are grown in the UK and are UK species only – all of them are amazing for insects!  Seed content is as follows (click on each species to read more about them):

Yarrow, Lesser Knapweed, Wild Carrot, Ladies Bedstraw, Rough Hawkbit, Ox-eye Daisy, Ribwort Plantain, Cowslip, Selfheal, Meadow Buttercup, Yellow Rattle, Sorrel, Salad Burnet, White Campion and Red Campion.

By giving your guests these seed packets you are helping the environment and our declining bee and butterfly populations – grow the love and Nature will love you back!

Spring and summer

Various heights to around 60 cm.

Hardy perennials, so will flower every year (although may not flower the first year)

Full sun

Shades of green, white, yellow, pink and purple

These meadow seeds are so easy to sow!  Simply find a patch of bare soil in full sun and sprinkle on the seeds.  Press them gently into the soil and water – no need to rake soil over the seeds, wildflowers germinate better when just pressed into the soil – in the wild, the seeds would be trampled in my the hooves of animals grazing on the meadow grasses.  Kepp an eye on them and water accordingly.
