Pack of 25 white seed paper hearts – really will germinate when planted (we know, we have grown them!). They make gorgeous wedding favours! You could also use them as quirky place settings and write your guests’ names on them. Then lay on the table plates or attach to a pretty name holder.
The hearts are 4 inches each in size and each one has brief planting instructions stamped on the back. If you are feeling inventive, use them in your own DIY wedding favours or wedding invitations.
Seed content – Black-eyed Susan, Poppy, Daisy, Spurred Snapdragon and Sweet Alyssum (although this mix can vary depending on the seed paper in stock). The paper is made from recycled cotton in the UK and has a paper weight of about 200 gsm.
How to plant white seed paper hearts
These white seed paper hearts are very easy to plant and take no time at all, so even the busiest guest will be able to find the time to plant them! They are best planted in Spring/Summer. Simply place a shape on top of a pot of compost (preferably peat-free!) and water well (important!). Place the pot somewhere warm and light to germinate and do not allow to dry out (also very important!). Once the seedlings have developed well, repot the whole lot into a bigger pot and place outside on your patio or balcony to flower in the summer! We do not recommend planting directly into the soil due to the risk of mice and slugs eating the seeds and seedlings. This is quite a thick paper so it is a good idea to give it a good soak before putting on the compost and to make sure you water it regularly! A planting information card is included.
