Grow Wildflowers

Description

RHS Plants for PollinatorsGrow the love and a rainbow of wildflowers for pollinators to increase biodiversity! Wildflowers encourage biodiversity and you can make your garden more biodiverse by sowing a patch of wildflowers, no matter how small.

Each manilla or white paper seed packet is completely recycled, made from quality 115 gsm paper, and measures 9 x 12 cm.  The reverse of the packet details the seeds inside and the sowing instructions.  The seeds inside are in a paper sachet (not foil and plastic). If you are not using the seeds for a while, they are viable for a few years and are easy to store by keeping them somewhere cool and dry out of direct sunlight.

About the Seeds

There are 15 species of wildflower in this mix, although not every packet may have all 15, due to seed distribution.  All of them are amazing for insects!  They are also UK wildflower species, grown in the UK. Seed content is as follows (please click each species to find out more information about them):

Yarrow, Lesser Knapweed, Wild Carrot, Ladies Bedstraw, Rough Hawkbit, Ox-eye Daisy, Ribwort Plantain, Selfheal, Meadow Buttercup, Cowslip, Yellow Rattle, Sorrel, Salad Burnet, White Campion and Red Campion.

Late spring to late summer

Various, up to around 90 cm

Perennial – they will flower every year but not necessarily the first year

Sun

Shades of pink, purple, white, green and yellow

Best sown in spring or autumn, find a bare patch of soil in a sunny spot and sprinkle on the seeds.  Press them gently into the soil and water.  Continue watering as required.  At the end of flowering, chop the plants to ground level and clear up the cuttings.  Alternatively, let the seeds drop first or collect them for more wildflowers next year!
